Why there's fuss over pomegranates |
7th July 2006 |
There's no nonsense today. No silly jokes or strange stories. (Big 'aaahhhhhhhh' from the crowd.) Instead, I'm going to get straight down to business and deal with my evergrowing email inbox. As you know, I can't give out one-to-one advice, but I can certainly publish my findings in these letters. So here goes… --------------------------- The fuss over pomegranates --------------------------- One Good Lifer write: “Can you please tell me ..

The brilliant remedy you may never see |
23rd June 2006 |
I've got to credit the drugs companies with one thing... They never fail to surprise me. Just when you think they can't possibly sink any lower, along comes another story so outrageous you think they MUST be making it up. (It also has a hidden 'nasty' side effect: it makes you forget you're drinking a cup of tea so that you end up pouring it over your lap). So, what are the drugs companies doing to us THIS time? --------------------- Greed b ..

At last! A natural remedy for varicose veins |
11 / 06 / 2006 |
A few weeks back I was telling you about a book by Mark Stengler called The Natural Physician's Healing Therapies. Well, it's a blinding read... full of fascinating information and most of it new to me. For example, I've never thought to cover the topic of varicose veins before. But when I read Mark's chapter on it, I thought: wow, this is a common problem that's rarely ever dealt with! So I got in touch with the publishers, and they've kindly ..

Improve your eyesight with jam |
30 September 2005 |
My Dad likes to tell an unusual story about my grandma's visit to a department store in the '80s... While on the escalator between floors, she was startled by the sight of a woman descending on an opposite escalator. She waved at the woman, and the woman waved back. 'Ooooh,' she said, 'I think I know this lady.' 'Of course you do,' cried my Dad, 'It's YOU!' It turns out that my grandma was waving at her own reflection in an enormous mirror. ..

Could two Canadian ladies have found a cure for cancer? |
7th October 2005 |
Whatever happened to Martin Lewis? Remember him...the newsreader who wished there was more good news in the press? 'WIFE LETS HUSBAND SLEEP IN FRONT OF THE TELLY WHILE TEA IS COOKED' would be my favourite headline. But to be honest I'd be happy with anything right now, because recently I've read nothing but bad news where our health's concerned. First off, it came to light that certain powerful remedies are being denied the Great British publ ..

Boxing Day exhaustion syndrome |
27th December 2005 |
Boxing Day is drawing to a close, the kids are finally in bed, and I'm exhausted... There's nothing as wonderful as a family Christmas, but it doesn't half take it out of me. Drugged by good food and wine, I've been lolloping after the kids like a big old dog, clearing up bits of wrapping paper, discarded instruction pamphlets and bits of mince pie. I've watched so many kids' films on DVD, and played so many board games, that my head is still ..

How falling flat on my back led me to these remedies |
10 February 2006 |
I know that Wales getting well and truly caned by England in the Six Nations rugby game last weekend shouldn't upset me so much... And I know I shouldn't take it out on a gang of school kids... But we all have our weaknesses don't we? So when my eldest son and his friends were playing football at the park, I got chatting to one of the their Dads... A Dad born and bred in London... A Dad who just couldn't help mention the game. A Dad who, fi ..
