How a creaking floorboard signals this health problem

Over the years, me and my friend Gary have shared
a lot of things...
Years of slavish devotion to a band called 999...
A love of cider...
Dancing to Bing Crosby (don't ask)...
The list goes on and on.
But ever since we hit our forties, there's something
else that bonds us, something I call the curse of the
creaking floorboard.

How a creaking floorboard signals this health problem
I was only reminded of the curse after Gary stayed
with us last night. He lives in Newcastle now, but
came down for an old colleague's retirement do at
the BBC.
Anyway, throughout the night, the curse struck us,
probably four or five times.
The first one I heard was at just after two in the
morning. I heard it again at four. And when I spoke
to Gary the next day, he said he'd heard it once or
twice himself.
'It's annoying isn't it,' he mused, nursing a cup of
tea and a hangover, 'why do you suddenly have to
start going to the loo during the night, EVERY
night? Isn't it bad enough that I'm losing my hair?'
Losing?
'Lost' is a better way to describe it. If his hair was a
pet, there'd be posters of it all over town offering a
reward for its safe return.
But still, it IS unfair that us men have to put up with
all this suffering while women waltz through life
without any problems. (Before my inbox is flooded
with death threats, I'm only joking. Honest!)
But more frequent visits to the loo is pretty
irritating, especially those night visits, where you
have to get up and tiptoe over the floorboards so
you don't wake the whole house up.
Luckily, there are plenty of things you can do to
fight the problem...
The best natural remedies for your prostate
Enlargement of the prostate is something most men
of a certain age suffer from to some degree. But it's
not something that's easily talked about.
In fact anything that falls into the 'down there'
category is quite often swept under the carpet. Men
still tend to suffer in silence.
But it's something that NEEDS to be talked about -
and dealt with - because the need to urinate more
frequently is one of the signs of BPH (benign
prostatic hyperplasia) - or an enlarged prostate.
Like I said, nearly all men of a certain age will
suffer from this, because after years of sitting still
the prostate suddenly bursts into life when men hit
40 and starts growing again.
More worryingly, it can also be a sign of prostate
cancer. So it's something you need to get checked.
Luckily, there are plenty of natural remedies that
can keep the embarrassing and irritating symptoms
of an enlarged prostate in check... |
The Indian herb that prevents those nightly trips
to the toilet
Himplasia is a mixture of traditional Ayurvedic
herbs.
In a study in Varanasi in India, a group of men
between the ages of 50-80, all suffering from
Benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), were each
given two tablets twice a day for three months.
The results seem incredible.
Prostate weight was down an average 70%... the
size went down 21%... and trips to the toilet were
reduced by 45%!
Remember, always chat to your doctor before you
try anything I talk about, but Himplasia seems like
it could be a way forward.
Put the kettle on to protect yourself from cancer
The Honeybush plant grows from the Southern to
the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Locals have used
it for hundreds of years to treat a wide range of
ailments, from constipation to rashes.
But recent research suggests it may be helpful in the
prevention of breast, uterine and prostate cancer.
Studies at the University of The Free State in South
Africa found that Honeybush is indeed a good
relaxant, helps with constipation and can be applied
to the skin for rashes. But it also contains
phytoestrogens, which may be helpful in the
prevention of breast, prostate and uterine
cancer.
Pretty good going from a simple brew.
But is this one even better...?
Rooibos tea grows in the Cedarburg mountain area
near Capetown, and clinical studies (undertaken in
Japan and at the University of the Orange Free State
in South Africa) have revealed this tea has a
remarkable amount of health benefits packed into
one small leaf.
Amazingly, this tea contains over FORTY
polyphenol compounds and flavonoids that act as
anti-oxidants.
So what does that mean?
Well, to put it plainly, this tea is anti-allergic, anti-
mutagenic, anti-spasmodic, anti-bacterial, anti-
aging and anti-viral.
All right, so it wasn't putting it that plainly.
But the evidence is there to support a claim that this
is indeed a super-tea. Furthermore, Rooibos tea
contains alph-hydroxl acid, a substance known to
promote healthy skin conditions. Plus it's full of
iron, potassium, calcium, copper, zinc, magnesium,
manganese and sodium. So put the kettle on, and
have a nice cup of...er... Rooibos. |
Is this the best all round natural prostate
protector?
It's always difficult to say something is 'the best'
when there are hundreds and hundreds of natural
remedies out there...
But this one does seem to have it all.

Palmetto berry... the list goes on and on.

you without committing a penny. So if you, or
someone in your family, suffers from symptoms of
